About The Miracle League
The Miracle League allows all children to play organized baseball, regardless of ability. Special-needs kids dress in uniforms, make plays in the field, and round the bases, just like their peers in standard little leagues.
Miracle League baseball is played on a custom-designed field featuring a cushioned, rubberized, completely flat surface to prevent injuries and allow access for the visually impaired and those in wheelchairs. All areas of the field, including the dugouts and restrooms, are universally accessible.
Milwaukee's Miracle League Complex is located at the John C. Cudahy YMCA on Milwaukee's northwest side.
History of The Miracle League
The Miracle League was founded in 1998 by the Rockdale Youth Baseball Association in Conyers, Georgia. There are now more than 200 local Miracle Leagues across the country, with 100 completed rubberized fields already built and 100 more currently under construction. The Miracle League of Milwaukee was founded in 2009, with the goal of getting kids out on the field by 2012.
